Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
12:28 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, North CR 300 E., south of East Bowser Road, Syracuse. Driver: Zella K. Hatfield, Dogwood Street, Warsaw. Police reported Hatfield was traveling northbound on CR 300E when she told police she lost control of her vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway, proceed into a ditch and strike a utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
8:54 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, North CR 100E and East CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Zakkary N. Moreno, CR 400E, Warsaw. Nicole D. Wysong, North Dovewood Trail, Warsaw. Moreno told police he was driving too fast for conditions and was unable to stop his vehicle at the intersection of CR 350N and CR 100E. Moreno’s vehicle collided with the driver’s side of Wysong’s vehicle. Wysong complained of pain and was transported to Parkview Warsaw Hospital. Damage up to $50,000.
8:19 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, Lake City Highway and East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Cordell J. Hull, East CR 900N., North Manchester. Eleazar G. Tapia, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Hull told police he was eastbound on Lake City Highway and while attempting to turn his vehicle onto CR 200 when he was blinded by the sun, causing him to not see Tapia’s vehicle. Hull’s vehicle struck Tapia’s in the rear. Damage up to $5,000.
10:27 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, South Packerton Road and East CR 400S, Warsaw. Driver: Griffin S. Tucker, Weimer Drive, North Manchester. Tucker told police he was northbound on South Packerton Road when he approached the intersection of east CR 400S. Tucker said that due to ice under the snow, he was unable to stop his vehicle and the vehicle slid off the roadway, ending up on its left side. Damage up to $10,000.
9:12 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, CR 1350N, west of CR 500W, Nappanee. Driver: Deandre Hochstetler, Third Road, Bremen. Hochstetler reported to police that, due to ice on the roadway, he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway, enter a ditch and collide with a fence. Damage up to $10,000.
6:24 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, SR 25 and South Ferguson Road. Driver: Joshua R. Kring, Main Street, Atwood. Police reported that Kring was driving on a curvy section of SR 25 when he lost control of his vehicle, which left the roadway and struck a rock approximately three feet in diameter. Both Kring and a passenger in his vehicle, Cheyenne N. Hall of Atwood, were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $5,000.
8:37 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, SR 25 south of CR 200S, Warsaw. Driver: Samuel M. Williams, South County Farm Road, Claypool. Police reported Williams was driving too fast for conditions and slide his vehicle sideways into a tree. Williams suffered head injuries, complained of pain and was transported to the hospital. Damage up to $10,000
4:19 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, SR 15 south of CR 1100N, Milford. Driver: Randale L. Thompson, Emeline Street, Milford. Police reported that the vehicle driven by Thompson was southbound on SR 15 when Thompson lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway, rolling over at least twice and coming to rest on its wheels. Police reported the driver had cuts on his head and he was transported to the hospital in an ambulance. Two other passengers were injured in the accident but the police report is unclear as to whether they were transported to the hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
3:39 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, US 30 east of CR 325E, Warsaw. Driver: Joshua C. Rittenhouse, Ray Street, Huntington. Rittenhouse reported that he was westbound on US 30, as was a semi tractor trailer when Rittenhouse told police the front wheel of his vehicle made contact with the rear wheels of the semi. No report was given on the semi. Damage up to $2,500.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:32 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, SR 13 in Pierceton. Drivers: Joseph A. Lardino, Third Street, Pierceton. Matthew Anderson, First Street, Pierceton. Lardino told police he veered his vehicle to the left in order to make a right hand turn and said he did it that way to accommodate the snow blade on the front of his vehicle. He also told police he did not signal his intentions. When turning his vehicle to the right for a right hand turn, Cordill’s vehicle was struck by the vehicle driven by Anderson. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:38 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, north SR 13, south of Executive Boulevard, Syracuse. Debbie L. Henson, South Street, Milford. Henson told police she was northbound on SR 13 when a black dog crossed into the path of her vehicle. She attempted to avoid hitting the dog, but due to a slippery road was, was unable. Henson told police she went door to door until the owner of the dog was located. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:34 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, West Prairie Street and South Logan Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Emma M. Gelbaugh, Chestnut Street, Winona Lake. Sarahy D. Lopez, Wood Street, Warsaw. Gelbaugh told police she was westbound on Prairie Street when, due to a slippery roadway, was unable to stop before her vehicle struck the vehicle driven by Lopez in the rear. Damage under $750.
12:35 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 3865 Lake City Hwy, Warsaw. Driver: David Keysor, Paulding, Ohio. Keysor told police he was backing out of a driveway when his vehicle struck a parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
