Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
9:12 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, South CR 600W, south of South SR 25, Warsaw. Driver: Kourtney B. Tackett, Grimme Lane, Claypool. Police said the vehicle driven by Tackett left the roadway following a curve. Damage up to $2,500.
7:18 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, South Caldwell Lake Drive and South Terrace Drive, Claypool. Driver: John D. Sommers, South Caldwell Lake Drive, Claypool. Sommers told police he was traveling on CR 400W when a deer ran into the path of his vehicle. Sommers told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $2,500.
10:57 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, West SR 25 West of CR 1000W, Mentone. Drivers: Joseph C. Shepherd, CR 100B, Corinth, Miss., Terry L. Stump, CR 475W., Ligonier. Shepherd told police he was following the vehicle driven by Stump, which had slowed due to slide-offs and a state highway that had stopped in the roadway. Shepherd said he was unable to stop his vehicle from colliding with the rear of Stump’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, West SR 25 West of CR 700S, Warsaw. Driver: Austin R. Robbins, South Bruner Road, Warsaw. Robbins told police he was westbound on SR 25 passing a slow moving vehicle when he lost control of his vehicle, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway, striking a tree and coming to rest in a yard. Robbins complained of leg pain but refused medical treatment. Damage up to $10,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:01 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, East CR 450N, west of CR 925E, North Webster. Driver: Forrest E. Boesenberg, Brooklyn Street, Syracuse. Boesenberg told police he was driving at a high rate of speed and was traveling westbound on CR 450N when he lost control of his vehicle. Police said Boesenberg’s vehicle ended up in a wooded area approximately 50 feet from the roadway. Boesenberg was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for medical treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:48 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, Walton Boulevard and Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Brent A. Howard, West CR 300N, Warsaw, Mitchell A. Corbat, West, CR 700N, Markle. Howard told police he was exiting the parking lot at Walmart and did not see the vehicle driven by Corbat due to excess snow on his windshield. Corbat said Howard did not yield, causing a collision of the two vehicles. Damage up to $5,000.
