Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
7:32 a.m. Friday, March 2, West Old Road 30, west of North Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Driver: Terry S. Engstrand, 39, East CR 500N, Rochester. Engstrand told police he was driving eastbound on West Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Engstrand told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $5,000.
3:03 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, Anchorage Road and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Garrett M. Andrysiak, 19, East Sage Drive, Warsaw, Kathy A. Jamison, 61, West Old Road 30, Warsaw. According to police, Andrysiak was driving southbound on Detroit Street and Jamison was traveling the same street northbound. Police said Andrysiak turned his vehicle into the path of Jamison’s vehicle, causing the two vehicles to collide. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:02 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, South Huntington Street, north of East Bowser Road. Drivers: Anthony W. Chestnut, 40, North SR13 A, Syracuse, and Jennifer A. Base, 36, North Main Street, Syracuse. Chestnut said the traffic light was green when he looked, and next thing he knew, it was red. Chestnut’s vehicle struck Base’s in the center middle. Base complained of pain on her chest from the seat belt. She was released by medics at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
9:47 p.m. Thursday, March 1, North Lake Street, south of West Main Street, Warsaw. Driver: Robert T. Barker, 45, Heather Court, Warsaw. Barker told police he was southbound on Lake Street and began backing into a parking space in front of the Justice Building when his vehicle struck a parked vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
4:31 p.m. Thursday, March 1, North SR 15 and US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: John R. Carpenter, 59, South East Ridge Drive, Warsaw, Lucas R. Brandt, 38, Hartzler Boulevard, Goshen. Carpenter told police he was driving northbound on SR 15 and was intending to turn left onto US 30. Carpenter said he knew he had a green light but said he didn’t have a green turn arrow and only realized that when he was in the intersection. Carpenter’s vehicle collided with Brandt’s vehicle in the intersection. Damage up to $2,500.
