Area Accident Reports

Kosciusko

Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:

8:42 p.m. Friday, March 9, West CR 1250N, east of North CR 200W, Warsaw. Driver: Daniel J. Wilson, 27, North CR 500W, Milford. Wilson told police he was eastbound on CR 1250N when he witnessed a red or maroon pickup truck traveling northbound on CR 200W. Wilson told police he began to slow down even though he did not have a stop sign because it appeared the other vehicle was going to run the stop sign on CR 200W. Wilson reported that his vehicle collided with the truck and that the truck continued to travel on CR 200W and did not stop to report the accident. Damage up to $5,000.

North Webster

Officers from the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accidents:

11:53 a.m. Saturday, March 10, South Main Street and West South Street, North Webster. Drivers: Lisa A. Sawyer, 50, North American Way, Syracuse, Sarah A. Erb, 48, Midview Drive, Unionville. Erb told police she was driving southbound on Main Street when the vehicle driven by Sawyer turned left into the path of her vehicle. Erb said she could not avoid hitting Sawyer’s vehicle. Sawyer told police she did not see Erb’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

11:32 a.m. Saturday, March 10, North Main Street, North Webster. Drivers: Victoria H. Bolles, 77, EMS T32C Lane, Leesburg, Gary A. Colby, 73, EMS B38 Lane, Leesburg. Both drivers told police they were parked in the parking lot of the North Webster Community Center and both began backing out of their parking spots at the same time, neither driver seeing the other. The two vehicles collided. Damage up to $2,500.

Warsaw

Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

5:59 p.m. Sunday, March 11, East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Philip C. Grigsby, 25, West Versailles Street, Holton, Denise A. Hankins, 36, North Ashford Court, Warsaw. Both drivers told police they were parked in a parking spot and began backing out, neither seeing the other driver. Both vehicles collided. Damage up to $5,000.

7:19 p.m. Saturday, March 10, East Center Street and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Driver: Renita L. Chesney, 67, EMS B61C Lane, Warsaw. Chesney told police she was traveling eastbound on Center Street and continued onto the eastbound on-ramp for Lake City Highway when she reporting striking an animal or object in the roadway. She told police she thought it might be a deer. She continued driving the vehicle to a parking lot and called police. Officers observed front-end damage to Chesney’s vehicle and clumps of fur and hair that appeared to be from a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
