Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
10:19 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, East Old Road 30, west of North CR 600E, Warsaw. Drivers: Ciera N. England, 21, EMS R4 Lane, Pierceton, and Alan R. Blitz, 51, North CR 600E, Warsaw. Blitz began to slow for a deer in the roadway when she was struck from behind by England. Damage: up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:44 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, West CR 250N and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Beth R. Barrus, 25, North Lake Street, Warsaw, and Jesse L. Gunnoe, 27, South Plum Street, Plymouth. Gunnoe, believing he had the green light, began to turn left at the CR 250N and North Detroit Street intersection. He struck into Barrus, who was traveling westbound through the intersection also believing she had the green light. Damage: up to $10,000.
5:03 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, Husky Trail, Warsaw. Drivers: Anna J. Decker, 19, Country Club Drive, Warsaw, and Zackery J. Sand, 22, Eagle Street, Warsaw. Decker stated she was slowing down for traffic when her foot slipped off the brake, causing her to rear-end Sand’s vehicle. Damage: up to $5,000.
2:06 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, South Detroit Street and East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Trevin R. Miller, 18, North Cook Street, Warsaw, and Michael A. Schwarte, 46, Monroe Street, Rochester. Miller stated his foot slipped off the brake pedal causing him to rear-end Schwarte, who was stopped at the intersection for a red light. Damage: up to $10,000.
11:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, West Center Street, south of North Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jasmine M. Hunt, 22, West Hillside Drive, Syracuse, and Scott E. Cobert, 42, North Wawasee Circle, Cromwell. Hunt attempted to make a left turn on what she believed to be a green light and turned in front of Cobert’s vehicle, causing a collision. Cobert complained of back pain but declined EMS. Damage: up to $5,000.
10:49 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2401 East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Constance M. Ratcliff, 59, Silver Lake. An unknown driver fled the scene of an accident after striking into Ratcliff in the East Center Street Penguin Point parking lot. Damage: up to $2,500.
