Kosciusko

Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

10:33 a.m. Thursday, July 25, East Defreese Road, east of EMS D18 Lane, Milford. Drivers: Mark A. Zimmerman, 53, East Defreese Road, Syracuse; George P. Wiegand, 46, EMS D18A1 Lane, Syracuse. Police said Zimmerman pulled his vehicle out of a private drive and into the path of the vehicle driven by Wiegand, while Wiegand was driving his vehicle west on Defreese Road. Damage up to $10,000.

9:08 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, CR200N, Warsaw. Driver: Marina Rodriguez, 40, Bluebird Drive, Warsaw. Rodriguez told police she was sitting in her vehicle in the Green Acres Mobile Home park and that she saw a black Equinox, believed to be driven by Jose Arina-Rosa, traveling at a high rate of speed and that the vehicle side swiped her vehicle. Police are investigating the incident as a leaving the scene of an accident. Damage up to $2,500.

5:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, North Lincoln Park, north of North Gettysburg, Warsaw. Drivers: Kray J. Menzie, 18, North Lincoln Park, Warsaw; Heather M. O’Hara, 34, North Lincoln Park, Warsaw. Menzie told police he was backing his vehicle out of a parking space and backed it into the vehicle driven by O’Hara he had not previously seen. Damage up to $2,500.

5:22 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, North CR 100E and East CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Benjamin P. Brennan, 17, North Shady Court, Warsaw; Adalena C. Pamer, 44, Lofty Pines Lane, Mill River, N.C. Police said Brennan was driving his vehicle west on CR 300 and that he failed to yield the right of way to the vehicle driven by Pamer, causing him to pull his vehicle into the path of Pamer’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.

Silver Lake

Officers from the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:

5:23 p.m. Thursday, July 25, West Main Street, Silver Lake. Driver: Andrew A. Boyle, 19, North Deer Run, Warsaw. Boyle told police he was backing his vehicle out of a parking space and backed it into a parked vehicle he had not previously seen. Damage less than $1000.

Warsaw

Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

2:44 p.m. Thursday, July 25, North Parker Street, south of US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert Zogbi, 20, Westwood Road, Winona Lake; Jordan A. Woodruff, Mineral Springs Avenue, Winona Lake. Zogbi told police he was driving his vehicle north on Parker Street and that he did not see the vehicle driven by Woodruff stopped for traffic in front of him. He said he could not stop in time to avoid a rear-end collision. Damage up to $5,000.

8:07 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Jason C. Nichols, 46, East Old Road 30, Warsaw; Lawrence W. Lundeen, 51, Hickory Lane, Ossian. Nichols told police he was driving his vehicle west on an access road and that while he was making a turn, he also maneuvered his vehicle to avoid striking a cement truck, causing his vehicle to collide with the vehicle driven by Lundeen. Damage up to $5,000.

Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following incidents:

  • 5:07 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 4800 block of South CR 750E, Pierceton. Police responded to the Lindsay Bettis residence to investigate a report of home improvement fraud. Complainant reported that she paid to have a water line installed, which was not done. Damage: $350.
  • 5 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 6300 block of East CR 650N, North Webster. Police responded to the Garrett Baldridge residence to investigate the theft of a mig welder and accessories from a vehicle. Value: $300.

Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following incident:

  • 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 1000 block North Branch St., Syracuse. Bridget M. Long reported identity deception.

 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following incidents:

  • 9:22 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 200 block of North Roosevelt Street, Warsaw. Police responded to the Christopher Baldridge residence to investigate a lost wallet.
  • 9:32 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 500 block East Clark St., Warsaw. Brandi R. Shepherd reported criminal mischief to a trampoline.

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

7:20 a.m. Friday, July 26, North CR 300W, south of West CR 900N, Milford. Driver: Amber K. Crisp, 27, West CR 900N, Milford. Crisp’s vehicle struck a deer. Crisp complained of pain in her left shoulder and neck area. Damage up to $10,000. 

5:16 a.m. Friday, July 26, Syracuse-Webster Road, north of East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Driver: Kierstyn R. Calobrace, 28, East Wawasee Drive, Syracuse. Calobrace said she lost control of her vehicle while driving on gravel and struck an REMC utility pole. Damage up to $25,000. 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:

8:49 a.m. Friday, July 26, Ranch Road, south of Fisher Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Justin R. Gunter, 24, East CR 600S, Claypool; and Carol J. Gaston, 68, Pheasant Ridge Drive, Warsaw. Gunter stated he was behind Gaston’s vehicle, which was stopped at a stop sign. Gunter said he thought Gaston’s vehicle was proceeding onto S. Buffalo Street so he accelerated forward, sideswiping Gaston’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

11:08 a.m. Friday, July 26, Indiana Avenue, south of East CR 1400N, Syracuse. Drivers: George B. Ball, 90, Greenhause Drive, Syracuse;  and Roger M. Shuder, 75, CR 35, Syracuse. Ball was traveling east, merging onto North Indiana Avenue and failed to yield to Shuder’s vehicle. Ball’s vehicle struck Shuder’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000. 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

8:45 p.m. Friday, July 26, Buffalo Street, Warsaw. The owner of a parked vehicle stated she went inside the Peking Restaurant to pick up food and returned to find a deep, dented scratch on the right front fender of her vehicle. Damage up to $2,500. 

3:52 p.m. Friday, July 26, Country Club Road, Warsaw. Driver: Jacob M. Eherenman, 40, Wildwood Drive, Warsaw. Eherenman’s vehicle went off the road and struck a NIPSCO utility pole. The vehicle continued on, through a yard, striking a parked vehicle and a fence. The parked vehicle was rear-ended and pushed several feet south into the roadway. Damage up to $25,000. 

Fulton

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

7:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 500 North and 450 East. A driver reported hitting a deer but sustained no damage to his vehicle.

12:36 p.m. Thursday, July 25, U.S. 31 and 3rd Street. Drivers: Kervin R. Zimmerman, 27, Rochester; and Danyelle J. Hoover, 17, Rochester. Zimmerman’s vehicle was traveling west on West 3rd Street when he failed to yield, striking Hoover’s vehicle, which was heading south on US 31.

  • 9:23 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 1600 block East CR 200N, Warsaw. A hit and run accident was reported. 
  • 12:38 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 7700 block East CR 400N, Leesburg. KCSO was contacted regarding a car striking a NIPSCO utility pole. 
  • 10:43 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 4000 block West CR 625S, Claypool. Kerry William Keeps Jr. reported theft of clothing valued at $250. 

Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following incident:

  • 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 1000 block North Branch Street, Syracuse. Bridget Mae Long reported identity deception. 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following incidents:

  • 8:45 p.m. Friday, July 26, 300 block South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. A hit and run accident was reported. 
  • 9:33 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 300 block South High Street, Warsaw. Tyler Lee Yeazel reported theft of a wallet containing $110 in cash as well as credit/debit cards and identity documents. 
  • 6:29 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 200 block Ramar Drive, Warsaw. Domestic battery was investigated. 

Fulton

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following incidents:

  • 5:21 p.m. Thursday, July 25. Officers investigated a fraud complaint after a resident sent a deposit to rent a residence on Realtor.com and then discovered it was a scam.

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

12:22 p.m. Saturday, July 27, US 30 and Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Raul P. Aguirre, 26, Anchorage Road, Warsaw; Leslie A. Carter, 45, Orange Street, Cromwell; and Angie L. Cunningham, 43, Greene Drive, Warsaw. Aguirre’s vehicle rear-ended Carter’s vehicle, pushing Carter’s vehicle into Cunningham’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000. 

1:51 p.m. Friday, July 26, SR 13, north of East Waco Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Joshua E. Ratliff, 33, East CR 650N, North Webster. Ratliff was traveling south on SR 13. A vehicle was stopped on the west side of the road facing south on SR 13. Ben Fisher, 29, Second Street, Plymouth, was retrieving construction signs on the site of the road. Ratliff’s vehicle struck Fisher, knocking him to the ground. A passenger in the parked vehicle, Laura M. McCollister, 40, Catalpa Avenue, South Bend, stated she was with Fisher and that the two had been picking up construction signs. Ratliff was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a blood draw. McCollister complained of pain in her leg and was checked out by medics. Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene. Damage up to $25,000. 

12:11 p.m. Friday, July 26, East Wawasee Drive, south of East CR 1250N, Syracuse. Drivers: Susan A. Richcreek, 69, EMS W25 Lane, North Webster; and Jeffrey D. Anglemyer, 31, Backwater Road, North Webster. Richcreek said she was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Wawasee Drive. She said she was not familiar with the area and did not realize that the north/south traffic did not have to stop. Richcreek pulled into the intersection and her vehicle struck Anglemyer’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

9:42 p.m. Monday, July 29, Ranch Road, north of Fawley Street, Warsaw. Driver: Jamie J. West,  40, Sycamore Street, North Manchester. West’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000.

Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

11:16 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, North Mill Street, Syracuse. Driver: Gordon R. Miller, 64, 6th Street, Goshen. Police were dispatched to Syracuse Cemetery in reference to someone driving through the cemetery and going off the road, striking multiple headstones. The president of the cemetery association told police that when he went to check the cemetery for the day, he noticed damage to numerous headstones. There were multiple pieces from the vehicle that hit the headstones found nearby. The officer investigating the cemetery damage contacted another officer who had handled an OWI earlier that morning. In the OWI incident, a man was at Wilby’s gas station in a red Chevy Avalanche that had extensive front end damage. The man told the officer he had hit something with his vehicle but couldn’t remember what it was. Police matched the automobile pieces found in the cemetery with that Chevy Avalanche. Seventeen headstones were damaged at the cemetery. Damage up to $10,000. 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

4:24 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, US 30, west of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Nicole K. Fullmer, 23, Dayton Street, South Bend; and John A. Gourley, 48, Briarknoll Court, Saukville, Wis. Fullmer’s vehicle rear-ended Gourley’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.

6:58 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, East US 30, near East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Alona D. Kitchens, 26, East 12th Street B., Winona Lake; and Julie A. Littlejohn, 49, North CR 175E, Warsaw. Kitchens was traveling east on East US 30 when she realized the traffic light had turned red and her vehicle was in the intersection. The front center of Littlejohn’s vehicle struck the right center of Kitchens’ vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

Warsaw To Hold Deer Task Force Training Aug. 29

WARSAW — Warsaw officials will hold a deer task force training session from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Warsaw Police Department.

Any interest archer may apply to participate in the reduction effort for 2019. More information, forms and applications for any interested DTF archers about the deer reduction program for 2019 can be obtained on the city website at warsaw.in.gov.

The DTF link is located within the Warsaw Police Department web page. Those interested in the program will also find the following updated links: private landowner information and application; training date, times and tentative agendas for DTF training; and a memo to interested archers wanting to participate in the 2019 program, according to City Councilman Jeff Grose who oversees the program.

The police department is at 2191 E. Fort Wayne St.

Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

4:56 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, South McKinley Street, north of East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Brandi L. Harvey, 19, Clark Street, Avilla; Nancy L. Corl, 62, Country Club Drive East, Warsaw. Harvey told police she was driving her vehicle on McKinley Street when she realized she had made a wrong turn. She said she pulled over into a gravel parking lot and began to turn around when she drove her vehicle into the path of the vehicle driven by Corl. Damage up to $10,000.

2:39 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, East Center Street and South Roosevelt Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Linda K. Norman, 70, South Pelican Way, Claypool; Madelyn N. Nowak, 18, East Main Street, Warsaw. Norman told police she was driving her vehicle north on South Roosevelt Street and came to a stop at the intersection with East Center Street. She said she wanted to to turn left on Center Street and that a motorist traveling east had waved her on, causing her to make the turn and drive her vehicle into the path of the vehicle driven by Nowak. Damage up to $2,500.

9:29 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, Hand Avenue, north of West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Timothy W. Lee, 32, North SR 5, Larwill. Lee told police he was driving a box truck north on Hand Avenue and that the box was too tall, causing his vehicle to become lodged in the viaduct. Damage up to $10,000.

  • 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 300 block of East North Kitson Lane, Syracuse. Police took a call from Jerod Galloway who reported tax papers and a boat registration taken from his residence. 
  • 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 100 block of EMS D21C Lane, Syracuse. Police responded to the Richard Martin residence to investigate the theft of a tool box plus tools. Value: $3,000.
  • 4:37 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 200 block of South Maple Street, Pierceton. Police responded to the Thomas Roberts residence to investigate the theft of a tan Chevrolet Lumina. Value: $3,000.
  • 10:27 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 100 block of EMS B46 Lane, Leesburg. Police investigated a report from Diana Showalter about a stolen trolling motor.
  • 5:13 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 7900 block of South CR 600W, Claypool. Police responded to the Hal Hoffman residence to investigate a theft. Taken was a battery from an irrigation system. Value: $150.

Kosciusko

Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

6:25 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, North Old Road 15, north of East Van Buren Street, Leesburg. Driver: Betsy A. Small, 44, North CR 850W, Pierceton. Small told police she was driving her vehicle south on Old Road 15 when a deer entered the roadway. She said an oncoming car was approaching, so she swerved her vehicle off the roadway, where it struck a utility pole. Damage up to $5,000.

Warsaw

Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

7:37 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, South Court Street, Warsaw. Driver: Matthew D. Drudge, 30, Brubaker Street, Warsaw. Police reported that Drudge and a pedestrian, Troy D. Riley, 58, North Lincoln Street, were involved in an altercation. According to the report, the two were nearly involved in a crash before the incident and that Drudge followed the vehicle driven by Riley to 205 Court Street, where Riley exited his vehicle. The report said an argument ensued and that Drudge’s vehicle struck Riley, causing injury. Riley was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Police reported that Riley showed signs of alcohol impairment. Damage up to $2,500.

11:34 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, West CR 300N and Tippe Downs Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Roger L. Burkholder, 55, Robin Drive, Warsaw; Inez C. Schwartz, 39, North CR 425W, Milford. Police said Burkholder was driving his vehicle west on CR 300N and that he and the motorist ahead of him passed the buggy driven by Schwartz. Burkholder told police that the vehicle ahead of his suddenly stopped and turned on a turn signal. He began to stop and his vehicle was struck from the rear by the horse and buggy. Damage up to $2,500.

9:46 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Kenneth J. Miller, 68, West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Miller told police he was backing his vehicle out of a parking space and backed it into a parked vehicle he had not previously seen. Damage up to $2,500.

4:34 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Driver: David F. Larrew, 86, West Blue Jay Drive, Mentone. A witness told police that Larrew was observed backing his vehicle into a parked vehicle at the CVS. Larrew was located at home and told police he was not aware of the accident. Damage up to $2,500.

  • 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 8400 block of North CR 850E, Syracuse. Police responded to a call from Matthews Painting Company regarding the theft of a pressure washer and accessories. Value: $1,000.
  • 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 4800 block of North Baldwin Road, North Webster. Police responded to Davidson’s Pier Service to investigate a report of someone breaking into multiple vehicles.

North Webster

Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following incident:

  • 2:00 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 400 block Dixie Drive, North Webster. The owners of Lakeview Pizza King reported theft of $1,519.32 cash.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following incident:

  • 10:02 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 100 block of Robber Drive, Warsaw. Police responded the Hampton Inn to investigate the theft of $225.

Kosciusko

Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, East CR 200N, Pierceton. Driver: Gary C. Powell, 62, Big Boulder CV, Fort Wayne. While pulling his semi tractor and trailer into a fenced lot, Powell’s trailer made contact with the fence. Damage up to $10,000.

5:52 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, West US 30, west of North CR 700W, Atwood. Drivers: Mark C. Kutz, 26, Rosedale, Irwin, Ohio; Sam J. Smith, 54, Diamond Drive, Antwerp, Ohio. Police reported that neither driver knew what caused the collision. Kutz was driving a semi tractor with trailer and Smith was driving a passenger car. Both vehicles were traveling east on US 30 when the two vehicles collided. Damage up to $10,000.

12:44 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, EMS B1 Lane, south of East CR 400N, North Webster. Drivers: James W. Jennings, 56, EMS B1 Lane, Leesburg; Johnny R. Wadkins, 44, 14th Road, Bourbon. Jennings told police he was backing his vehicle out of a driveway and backed it into Wadkins’ vehicle, which he had not previously seen. Damage up to $5,000.

2:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, North SR 19, north of West CR 1350N, Nappanee. Drivers: Taylor D. Slabaugh, 18, North SR 19, Nappanee; Derek J. Rex, 27, Holloway Drive, Plymouth. Slabaugh and Rex were both driving their vehicles south on SR 19 when Rex began to slow down to avoid hitting a slowing vehicle in front of his. Slabaugh was unable to stop his vehicle in time to avoid a rear-end collision with the vehicle driven by Rex. Damage up to $10,000.

12:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, North CR 100E and East CR 250N, Warsaw. Driver: Kristina L. Collier, 37, East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Collier told police she was driving her vehicle north on CR 100E and stopped at an intersection to turn, but that while waiting on traffic to make her turn, a white, 4-door passenger car attempted to pass her and struck her vehicle before leaving the scene. Damage up to $1,000.

12:03 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, South CR 200W and West CR 800S, Claypool. Drivers: Korey B. Green, 41, West Prairie Street, Leesburg; Morgen L. Nifong, 26, East CR 700S, Claypool. Green told police he was driving his vehicle east on CR 800S and that he stopped at the intersection with CR 200W. He said he looked both ways before proceeding into the intersection, where his vehicle struck the vehicle driven by Nifong. Damage up to $10,000.

4:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, North SR 15 and West CR 1350N, Milford. Driver: Diana M. Sanders, 59, West CR 1350N, Nappanee. Sanders told police she was driving her vehicle east on CR 1350N and stopped at the intersection with R 15. She said she drover across the intersection and pulled over on the shoulder, misjudging the distance to a guard rail. Her vehicle struck the guard rail. Damage up to $5,000.

Syracuse

Officers from the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:

5:58 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, South Lakeside Drive, south of East Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Steven C. Pritnz, 69, East Pixie Parkway, Cromwell. Police said Printz was riding a moped north on Lakeside Drive when he crossed into the southbound lane and struck a guardrail. Printz received medical attention at the scene but it is not clear from the report whether or not he was transported to a hospital for his injuries. Damage up to $5,000.

11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, North Huntington Street, south of West Main Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Derick E. Orea, 30, Ready 1st Street, Fort Bliss, Texas; Jody M. Francis, 39, EMS T25 Lane, Leesburg. Orea told police he was in his vehicle making a right turn and that his vehicle collided with Francis’ vehicle, which was unoccupied and parked at the time. Damage up to $2,500.

Warsaw

Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

12:17 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, South Buffalo Street, north of Woodlawn Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Brooke T. Miller, 17, Woodlawn Drive, Warsaw. Miller told police she was driving her vehicle west on Woodlawn Drive and that she took her eyes off the road briefly, causing her vehicle to strike a pedestrian crossing sign. Damage up to $2,500.

7:55 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, West Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Venkatesh Ramaning, 27, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw; Heena G. Thakkar, 25, Chamberlin Drive, Warsaw. The vehicles driven by Ramaning and Thakkar collided in the Zimmer Biomet parking lot and both drivers claimed to not be at fault. Police determined by examining debris from the collision, that the crash occurred in Thakkar’s lane of travel, indicating that Ramaning was driving left of center, according to police. Damage up to $5,000.

Police reported a 12-year-old boy was driving a vehicle without a license or permission and that the driver told police he was struck by another vehicle, which fled the scene. 9:02 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Steven J. Dockery, 33, Austin Drive, Warsaw; Kiely D. Culbertson, 37, North Valley View Court, Middletown. Police said Dockery attempted to make a turn in the CVS parking lot and that his vehicle struck Culberton’s vehicle, which was parked. Damage up to $2,500.

9:40 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Jane Lozano, 88, Portland Street, Syracuse. Lozano’s vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the parking lot of Miler’s Merry Manor. Damage up to $2,500. 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:

10:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, US 30 and East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Jeremy W. Osborn, 43, Murray Street, Hammond; Fredrick M. Habegger, 40, Courtney Drive, New Haven; and Jeanne M. Blake, 61, Mulberry Street, Churubusco. Osburn’s vehicle rear-ended Habeggger’s vehicle, causing Habegger’s vehicle to strike the rear of Blake’s vehicle. Osborn complained of chest pain and was checked out by paramedics at the scene but refused further medical treatment. Habegger stated he scraped his knee as a result of the accident but refused medical treatment on scene. Damage up to $50,000.

Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, east CR 900N, west of North CR 850E, North Webster. Driver: Jacob A. Wheat, 18, North Humpty Dumpty Drive, Cromwell. Wheat told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound when another vehicle stopped in front of him. He said to avoid a collision, he swerved his vehicle to the right, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway. He said he overcorrected, causing his vehicle to leave the other side of the road and strike a tree stump Damage up to $5,000.

8:09 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, west US 30, east of North SR 19, Etna Green. Drivers: Judith L. Davis, 72, South Oakview Drive, LaPorte; Casey L. Guzman, 51, East Baker Street, Warsaw. Police said both Davis and Guzman were driving their vehicles west on US 30 and that at the intersection with SR 19, Davis told police she noticed the vehicle driven by Guzman too late, causing her to drive her vehicle into the rear of Guzman’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.

5:03 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, North CR 300E and East CR 700N, Leesburg. Drivers: Marilyn L. Freiburger, 67, North Front Street, Syracuse; Morris R. Stewart, 84, Panorama Drive, North Webster. Police said Freiburger was driving her vehicle east on CR 700N and that she had a stop sign ash the intersection with CR 300E. Police said Freiburger’s vehicle struck the vehicle driven by Stewart, who did not have a stop sign at the intersection. Freiburger complained of chest pain and was transported to a hospital and Stewart complained of pain to the pelvis and was also transported by ambulance to a hospital. In addition, passengers Memphis Freiburger, 9 and Kathy Anglin, 57 in Freiburger’s vehicle, along with Michael Stewart, 65 in Stewart’s vehicle complained of pain, but only Stewart and Anglin were taken to the hospital.  Damage up to $25,000.

Milford

Officers from the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:

5:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, South Higbee Street, Milford. Driver: Gergory J. Hernandez, 57, Winskie Road, Pooler, Ga. Hernandez told police that while he was inside a store, his vehicle rolled into a parked vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

Syracuse

Officers from the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

2:08 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, South Harkless Drive, south of Palm Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Dustin R. Johns, 38, NE Wawasee Drive, Syracuse. Police said Johns was driving his vehicle north on South Harkless Drive when his vehicle left the roadway, destroyed approximately 500 feet of fencing belonging to the Oakwood Inn, struck a tree, rolling onto its side and slid further on the road, striking another fence before coming to rest on its side. Johns complained of pelvis pain and was transported to the hospital. Damage up to $100,000.

Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, Walker’s Ridge, south of Oak Point Crossing, Warsaw. Driver: Debra Q. Kloc, 48, Walker’s Ridge, Warsaw. Kloc told police she was backing her vehicle out of a parking space and backed it into a parked vehicle she had not previously seen. Damage up to $5,000.

3:37 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, Silveus Crossing and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Melodie A. Thomas, 75, North CR 600W, Warsaw; Chase E. Whybrew, 17, 17A Road, Tippecanoe. Whybrew told police he was traveling east on US 30 and that he was in the left turn lane. He said he proceeded forward to make a turn when his left turn light turned green. He said the vehicle driven by Thomas then impacted his vehicle in the intersection. Damage up to $10,000.

11:57 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, SR 15, north of CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Christopher W. Arthur, 33, North Kalorama Road, Leesburg; Alexius N. Halsey, 22, East Perry Road, Ligonier. Arthur told police he began to move when the light at the intersection in which he was stopped turned green. He said he was not able to stop in time before his vehicle rear-ended the vehicle driven by Halsey. Damage up to $2,500.

10:11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Charles M. Reber, 44, North Berry Patch Lane, Warsaw; Marcia C. Anderson, 70, Buck Trail, Warsaw. Reber told police he was backing his vehicle out of a parking space and backed it into the vehicle driven by Anderson that he had not previously seen. Damage up to $2,500.

2:01 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, North Detroit Street, south of Lyon Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Laura A. Knable, 57, Main Street, Lagro; Gary L. Knable, 61, Main Street, Lagro. Laura Knable told police she was riding her motorcycle out of the El Arriero parking lot and that when she accelerated, she lost control of her motorcycle, causing it to strike the motorcycle ridden by Gary Knable. Laura Knable fell from her motorcycle and struck her head, which was protected by a helmet. She complained of dizziness and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $2,500.

8:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Karrah N. Creamer, 34, East High Street, Atwood; Angela D. Holler, 56, Reed Street, South Whitley. Creamer told police she was driving her vehicle in the McDonald’s drive-thru behind the vehicle driven by Hollar and that when she pulled up, her vehicle struck Hollar’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.

5:56 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, South Buffalo Street, south of Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Cody W. Demske, 22, Washington Street, Warsaw; and Jeffery P. Jagger, 47, Center Street, Warsaw. Demske said he felt he was too close to the semi in front of him so he checked his mirrors and then proceeded to back up. Demske’s vehicle then backed into Jagger’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
