Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
7:12 a.m. Monday, March 26, South SR 15, north of South CR 300S, Warsaw. Driver: Julia A. Grothouse, 52, South Woodland Hills Drive East, Warsaw. Grothouse told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on SR 15 when a deer ran into the path of her vehicle. She was unable to avoid a collision with the deer. Damage up to $5,000.

Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, North Detroit Street, north of East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Amber A. Griffith, 19, Van Hemert Drive, Syracuse, Matthew W. Francis, 18, West Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Griffith told police she was following Francis’s vehicle in her vehicle, southbound on Detroit Street. She said when they crossed the intersection of East Fort Wayne Street, she looked behind her to prepare for a lane change. By then, Francis’s vehicle had stopped and Griffith’s vehicle collided with the rear of Francis’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
5:46 p.m. Monday, March 26, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Joshua B. Hawthorne, 38, Anchorage Road, Warsaw, Lisa R. McKee, 57, East SR 14, Silver Lake. McKee told police that she was traveling north in the Meijer parking lot when Hawthorne backed his vehicle out of a parking space and into a collision with her vehicle. McKee told police that Hawthorne left the scene. Police visited Hawthorne at his residence and were told that Hawthorne left the scene because he said a crowd was gathering and that he thought he saw a gun. Hawthorne was charged with a misdemeanor. Damage up to $5,000.
